Hebrews 6:19 – “We have this hope as an anchor for the soul, firm and secure.”
Starting Now! Series 1: "Anchored in Christ: Building Strong Hearts from the Start"
We're so excited to share this new series introducing the spiritual gift of EXHORTATION!
To kick the series off, we are building on the Godly character traits of Love & Kindness.
Developing Godly character early in our children's lives is one of the most important investments we can make—spiritually, emotionally, and relationally. Here’s why:
Although core subjects such as math and reading are important, developing Godly character as early as possible, provides our children with a solid foundation that we, at Kids Character believe is vital for our children's education.
Follow along as we begin our series in developing Godly character traits that exemplify Exhortation!
7 Important Reasons Developing Godly Character in the Early Years Matters:
1. Foundation Sets Direction
Just like a ship needs a strong anchor and a clear compass to navigate the seas, our children need solid moral and spiritual foundations to navigate life.
Proverbs 22:6 says, “Train up a child in the way he should go, and when he is old, he will not depart from it.”
The values we instill early become the guiding principles they return to—even when they face challenges later in life.
2. Identity Is Shaped Young
Children are constantly asking—Who am I? When we teach them that they are loved by God, created with purpose, and called to reflect His character, they develop a strong identity rooted in truth rather than in culture, comparison, or performance.
3. Habits Become Character
Childhood is when habits are easiest to form. When we consistently model and teach traits like honesty, kindness, obedience, and love, those daily choices become lasting character. It's easier to build godly character from the start than to undo harmful patterns later.
4. Early Seeds Bear Lifelong Fruit
Godly character affects how children treat others, how they respond to authority, and how they handle mistakes, success, or disappointment. These seeds influence every area of life—friendships, learning, leadership, and even their walk with God.
5. Children Are Influencers
Even at a young age, children influence siblings, classmates, and friends. When they reflect the love, truth, and light of Jesus, they become little leaders and ambassadors of Christ, showing others what His love looks like.
6. The World Is Loud—Truth Must Be Louder
Our culture promotes a self-centered message. If we want our children to grow up anchored in Christ, we must start early, before competing voices take root in their hearts. Truth, love, and righteousness must be modeled and taught intentionally.
7. It’s a Spiritual Responsibility
As parents, caregivers, or teachers, God has entrusted us with the opportunity to shepherd young hearts. Our influence is part of God’s plan to raise up a generation that knows Him and reflects His glory.
